In
2003, the United States celebrated the Louisiana Purchase's Bicentennial. From 1998 through 2003, the Arkansas Secretary of State's
office planned, developed, and promoted it. They carried out statewide
and local programs and activities suitable for the bicentennial
observance, ensuring a positive legacy that had long-term public
benefits.
